How Actions Can Be Pro-Life
Last week we took a look at how Our Words Can Be Pro-Life. However, as illustrated by the life of Jesus, actions must accompany words and faith. If we are to stand for life, we must use everything before us and make sure our actions match what we speak.
Caring Network is a pro-life organization in the Chicagoland area. We have six pregnancy centers equipped to provide women with accurate information and care as they make pregnancy decisions, enabling them to choose life. The Power of Actions
Throughout the Bible we find story after story of how somebody’s actions make a difference. Actions are responsible for clothing others, feeding the hungry, comforting the grieving, the list goes on and on. We see Jesus and fellow believers changing lives through wise, faithful, love-filled actions.
James 2:14-17 illustrates the power and necessity of actions: “What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”
How Can Our Actions Be Pro-Life?
We know that our actions can make a difference, but how can they specifically be pro-life? We have some ideas…
Demonstrate your value for life.
There are so many ways to make sure you are valuing Life through your actions. An especially poignant way is to help those in need. Whenever we see somebody who is suffering, hungry, or in need of something we can offer, the pro-life way is to provide.
Partner With Pro-Life Organizations.
Are there organizations in your community that are promoting the value of life? Join in the work they are doing through volunteering your time or extending your resources. Here at Caring Network there are so many ways for you to take action for Life, such as praying, volunteering, donating, and more!
Take care of those in your community.
One of the best ways for followers of Jesus to demonstrate our love for others and value for Life is to be invested in those who live and work around us. We never know how being the hands and feet of love can impact somebody.
