Spring Cleaning: Where To Take Your Baby Items

Birds are chirping again. Tulips have bloomed, and trees are budding with life. Springtime is incredibly refreshing, and it’s a great season to tackle home projects like spring cleaning.

As you clean, sort, and purge, you might realize that you have baby items you don’t need anymore. They’re still in great shape, and you know that someone could get some wonderful use out of them.

But what can you do with your baby items now that COVID-19 safety guidelines have limited what people will purchase used and what can be donated? There are many families in need of material support right now. May we suggest donating as many eligible items as possible?

In this article, we will offer solutions regarding where you can take your baby items and have the joy of knowing they will be appreciated by moms who chose life for their babies.

The Need Is Great

Women usually choose abortion due to a combination of several reasons. Yet, many women cite a lack of resources as the primary reason they choose abortion.

Imagine discovering you and your partner are unexpectedly pregnant, and you don’t have income due to the layoffs over the past year. You also don’t have others in your life to help you financially. In circumstances like this, women may feel they don’t have pregnancy options that seem viable to them.

Now imagine being in this situation, but you learn there are places you can go to receive the material assistance you need to follow your heart and continue your pregnancy. When women have this kind of support, it can prevent them from making a permanent abortion decision driven by a fear of being unable to provide for their child. For this reason, Caring Network offers places you can take your baby items. This gesture may seem nominal to you, yet it provides tremendous hope for women facing an unplanned pregnancy.

Where To Take Your Baby Items

Caring Network Cubes, baby showers, and “baby bank” material goods programs help fulfill Caring Network’s mission to provide emotional, spiritual, and practical support to empower women to choose life. Here we’ll discuss various options about where to take your baby items.

Caring Network Cubes

Caring Network supplies baby goods to families in need through our centers and baby banks at our partner churches. A Caring Network Cube is a container that your church keeps on-site to collect donated baby items.

After your spring cleaning project, you can bring your baby items to your church if you have a cube available. If your church doesn’t have a cube but wants to keep a Caring Network Cube on-site, we will be happy to supply one for you. You can contact Tracy for more information.

Caring Network Baby Banks

Caring Network partners with local churches that serve as “Caring Network Baby Banks” to support moms with unexpected pregnancies. If you have baby items to donate to one of our baby banks, please look over the following list to familiarize yourself with each location’s needs because they vary by location. Please note that certain items, such as clothing, may not be accepted at this time due to COVID-19 safety protocols.

You can drop your baby supplies off directly at each site. If you have questions on donations, please call the Glen Ellyn Administrative Office at 630-493-1340 for additional information.
