She Typed “I Need An Abortion” Into Her Phone

When Tiffany (not her real name) picked up her phone, she wasn’t searching for hope. She wasn’t looking for prayer, or peace, or purpose. She was searching for a way out.

She typed four words into her phone: “I need an abortion.”

Like thousands of women each day, Tiffany wasn’t sure where to go. Google offered a list. The first result read, You’ve Got This.”  That sounded reassuring. The place offered pregnancy tests, abortion information, and the all-important “Make an Appointment” button. So she clicked.

Several locations popped up. Tiffany chose one, thinking she was walking into a place that would help her end her pregnancy. Instead, she walked into a relationship that helped her find something she didn’t know she needed: a quiet room, a kind face, and a conversation that changed everything.

“Come on in,” Vicky said.

Vicky greeted Tiffany with a warm smile. She led Tiffany into a softly lit room with comfortable chairs. There was nothing in there that seemed sterile or cold. There was an aura of peace in that place. Tiffany felt it right away: She wasn’t a case number here. She was a person.

She shared her story. Her plans. Her fears. Her reasons. “I think I need to get an abortion,” she told Vicky. And Vicky listened. She listened without an agenda. Then she gently suggested something simple: “Let’s take a medical-grade pregnancy test.” Tiffany agreed. The test came back positive. The weight of the moment felt heavy. But Tiffany felt that she did not have to carry this weight all by herself.

Next came the ultrasound. No pressure. Just a window into what was quietly forming inside her.

The image appeared. Tiffany stared. She hadn’t expected to feel so… connected.

The baby was real. And already, somehow, hers.

She took the printed images home. She wasn’t ready to decide. Not yet. But something had shifted.

Before she left, Vicky asked, “Would it be alright if I prayed for you?” Tiffany said yes.

After the prayer, Vicky asked a gentle follow-up. “Would you like to hear more about what it means to live a life with Jesus?” Tiffany hesitated — but not for long. “I went to church when I was younger,” she said. “And I think this would be a good time to begin a life with Christ.”

Empowered by her decision to follow Jesus, but still unsure about her decision, Tiffany asked if she could come back — with her mom — for another ultrasound.

“Of course,” Vicky said, smiling.

By the time she returned, Tiffany had had the conversations she needed — with her mom, with trusted people in her life, with Jesus, with herself. And the answer had come:

She would keep her baby.

Tiffany’s story isn’t just about choosing life. It’s about what happens when care is real, when faith is offered not with pressure, but with peace. It’s about how compassion can create a space safe enough for truth to speak.

At Caring Network, we don’t know who’s coming through the door. But we know this: if she’s scared, if she’s searching, if she’s typing “I need an abortion” — we want to be the voice of love that whispers back:

“You’ve got this. And we’ve got you.”

Because when a woman meets compassion at the crossroads of crisis, incredible things can happen.

Just ask Tiffany.

Abortion hurts.

For many, it brings unexpected consequences: Ongoing shame. Anxiety or depression. Difficulty bonding with children and other loved ones. Isolation. Alienation.

It’s a loss that lasts.

But in Christ, loss is never where our stories end.  Caring Network has a post-abortion program, offering hope and healing to all those whose lives have been touched by abortion.

So help us make a difference … two lives at a time.
