How to Host a Baby Bottle Drive
Sharing with your friends and loved ones about the work of life is a great way to expand Caring Network’s outreach — and encourage more likeminded people to join our cause to save the unborn. One easy way to do that is through a baby bottle drive.
As people fill up baby bottles with spare change and bills, they will think, pray and give toward Caring Network’s ministry. Baby bottle drives help to increase:
- Awareness. When you distribute empty baby bottles throughout your church, your organization or your personal network, people will keep them for a few weeks. Each time they reach for loose change and place it in the baby bottles, they’ll remember Caring Network and perhaps say a prayer to end abortion. For families with children, their young ones will learn about compassion, generosity and that each human is made in God’s image . . . and sacred to Him.
- Fundraising. As much as $75,000 of Caring Network’s annual budget is supplied by baby bottle drives. That’s important — it goes a long way toward funding God’s work in the lives of pregnant women, new moms and those healing from abortion throughout Illinois.
Your change doesn’t have to go unused or forgotten. It can have a purpose, because your change really does change lives! To organize a baby bottle drive, here’s all you need to do . . .
STEP 1: Reach out.
Contact us by filling out a short online form. We’ll get in touch to supply bottles and to help you plan.
STEP 2: Choose the right time.
A one-to-two month time period works best to distribute and fill physical bottles with spare change and bills. Here are three seasonal suggestions:
- January to February, beginning on Sanctity of Life Sunday
- Spring, March to April
- Mother’s Day to Father’s Day, May to June
STEP 3: Distribute baby bottles and promote.
We’ll provide all you need — so all you need to do is spread the word. You can use social media and email to reach as many people as possible in your church, organization or network. Offline communication tools like posters and flyers are also great ways to let others know how they can help raise funds through your baby bottle drive.
___________
Many churches and organizations distribute physical baby bottles to their members or staff. We recommend placing the baby bottles in high-traffic areas so that as many people as possible will see the baby bottle and have an opportunity to give. Once the bottles are full, they can bring these back to your baby bottle drive’s organizer.
If someone would rather give online, they are welcome to give at our baby bottle drive page, where they can make their donation by credit card or bank transfer. If they are giving as part of a church’s or organization’s effort, they can indicate its name so that you can track your own drive’s progress.
You can also make a gift by mail. Just mail a check to our administrative office and write “baby bottle” and the church’s or organization’s name (if applicable) on the memo line of the check. Just mail the check to:
Caring Network, 1200 Roosevelt Rd, Ste 114, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137
It doesn’t take a lot of resources or effort to organize a baby bottle drive. And if you are willing to help spread the word about Caring Network’s women’s clinics, then you will help more people in our community have the opportunity to be a part of saving hundreds of babies each year by equipping women to choose life.
