Helping Abortion-Minded Women Give Their Babies Life
Destiny came to Caring Network alone, walking a difficult path she’d never been on before. She met Sonya, a pregnancy consultant, and told her that she was the first person with whom she’d shared the news that she was pregnant. “I don’t want their judgment,” Destiny said, fearing what others may say. And she didn’t want to talk about the father of the baby at all.
Because of the generous support of friends like you, Caring Network was there to provide Destiny with practical, emotional and spiritual support in her time of need. This non-judgmental care is what helps empower women facing unexpected pregnancies so they can choose life for their babies.
Destiny told Sonya that she was a Christian and was conflicted about an abortion decision due to her faith. She was happy to talk about spiritual things with Sonya, who assured her of God’s love and support for her.
Sonya was trained and prepared to share the biblical truths that helped Destiny understand how God views life and wants us to as well. He’s made it clear to us in the pages of His Word . . .
- “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27).
- “Your hands made me and formed me” (Psalm 119:73a).
- “This is what the Lord says — your Redeermer, who formed you in the womb: I am the Lord, the Maker of all things, who stretches out the heavens, who spreads out the earth by myself” (Isaiah 44:24).
- “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him” (Psalm 127:3).
- “Do not put an innocent or honest person to death, for I will not acquit the guilty” (Exodus, 23:7b)
- “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute” (Proverbs 31:8).
Destiny listened to truth. But deep down, she was scared.
Then Destiny asked Sonya if abortions were safe and said: “I’m worried about that for me.” Sonya discussed the physical and emotional risks of abortion and offered an informational sheet on the emotional effects of abortion (which Destiny declined). Before leaving, Destiny agreed to an ultrasound a week later and said to Sonya: “Thank you, you have helped me a lot.”
She returned for her ultrasound appointment and informed Sonya that after much thought, she wanted to choose life! She said she had been researching abortion procedures and added: “I’m not sure I can do that or know how I’d feel afterwards.” Praise the Lord!
Women like Destiny are counting on the compassion of friends like you to find healing, a pathway to life for their child and, yes, faith in Jesus Christ . . . the Author of Life.
Your gift now will help Caring Network come alongside more women who might otherwise be alone, provide free medical grade pregnancy tests, ultrasounds — where women can see their baby for the first time and hear the heartbeat — and other compassionate support that saves lives, as well as offer long-term help after the baby is born and affirm the value of both mother and child.
